Scandia House has car and boat rentals for the traveler who wants to “get out of town” to explore. Petersburg is located on the north end of Mitkof Island. Our fjord-like setting lined with 3 busy boat harbors, against a backdrop of snow capped mountains and glaciers, make this picturesque setting almost unbelievable. Car Rentals
Exploring the island by car on over 30 miles of paved and over 100 miles of gravel roads shows you a side of this island that many visitors don’t get to experience. Allstar vehicles are the only rentals on the island that will take you off the pavement to the more “wilderness” areas. Access hiking trails, fishing spots, wildlife viewing, pristine forests and amazing seaside vistas that you won’t want to miss.

Our Rental Cars are midsize, 4 door vehicles renting for $60.00 + tax per day with unlimited mileage. We’ll supply the map and suggestions…..you enjoy the adventure.

We rent 18 foot Lund Alaskan boats with 40hp Yamaha outboard motors plus 6 hp Yamaha trolling motors for the sportsman who would like to charter his/her own expedition. The boats rent for $125.00 per day for our guests or $140.00 per day for non-guests. Going to a remote cabin? Ask about our weekly rates. And the guest rate applies if you spend one or more nights with us.

We supply life jackets, nets, gaff hook and all required safety equipment. You bring fishing gear and make space in your freezer at home. Halibut, 3 species of Salmon, Crab, Shrimp and Clams are abundant in our waters. Don’t forget the binoculars and camera. There are humpback and killer whales, dolphins & seals, icebergs, a multitude of shorebirds & eagles, bears, deer and lots more to see in a day out on the water.
